Blended Coaching: How Trainers and Coaches Can Get Started Digitally Without Losing the Human Touch

3 Min.

On September 23, we partnered with Potenziale GmbH for the online event “Blended Coaching – How You, as a Trainer, Can Get Started Digitally.” The key message came right at the start: It’s not about completely digitizing coaching and training. Quality continues to come from person-to-person interaction. At the same time, professionals and executives today want to learn with flexibility in terms of time and location, and companies can’t afford to pay a coach’s hourly rate for every training session. This is exactly where blended coaching comes in.

The idea: personalized coaching plus digital modules

A vivid example illustrates how this works in practice: An executive books a coaching session because she can’t say no. The issue is identified during the coaching session. The practice then takes place digitally—for example, through a “Saying No” focus exercise—as a kind of homework assignment to be completed before the next session. At the next session, what was learned is explored in greater depth together. This makes the work more meaningful, and the valuable coaching time is used where it has the greatest impact—namely, in applying the lessons to everyday life.

What makes this unique is that trainers don’t have to become product developers themselves to achieve this in-depth impact. Potenziale’s partnership offering also involves no subscription and no minimum purchase requirement. You book exactly what the client needs—and only when it makes sense within the process.

A Look at the Learning Platform

The “Solution-Oriented Action” Focus Training was presented in a live demo. It consists of short 10- to 15-minute modules featuring high-quality videos in which a moderator and an expert engage in dialogue. These are supplemented by short knowledge quizzes, in-depth content, and methods such as the Five Whys or the Disney Method.

The offering is rounded out by what are known as SkillBoost Agents: specially trained AI agents, each of which supports a specific aspect of leadership—such as initiating a critical discussion, asking open-ended questions, or reframing a situation. Through repeated practice, progress becomes measurable—and that is exactly what HR and senior management are increasingly demanding.

Privacy and Trust

One theme ran throughout the entire discussion: trust. The platform and AI are hosted by German providers in Germany, are GDPR-compliant, and do not have access to the open internet. Only the learners themselves have access to their own results; supervisors see nothing. And very important for all trainers and coaches in the partnership: The client always remains the trainer’s client; this is also stipulated in the contract.

Intellectual property was also discussed openly. Training courses developed jointly belong to both parties. Trainers are featured as experts in the videos and earn a share of the revenue when other partners resell the content. And valuable knowledge accumulated over decades—which often lies dormant and unused in old PowerPoint slides—is given a new lease on life.

The Benefits at a Glance

  • Greater effectiveness: Participants come to coaching sessions better prepared. This allows for greater depth in the coaching sessions,
  • More flexible design: Building blocks are only added if they truly fit.
  • Additional revenue: no investment required, plus access to new digital projects.
  • Better Transfer to Practice: Practice exactly when it’s needed.
  • Fewer absences: short learning sessions instead of a two-day seminar.
  • Greater customer loyalty: Experience shows that trainers tend to get booked more often afterward, rather than less.
  • And: You’re adding even more value for your customers to the value you already provide. The concept and its implementation were recognized with the European Training Award in 2025 and the delina Award in 2026.

Conclusion

An inspiring morning with many practical examples and an open discussion. Blended coaching doesn’t replace trainers—it makes their work more valuable.
