Implement digitalized business processes
Software development companies are at the forefront of realizing digitization strategies. But even here, impulses from outside help to broaden one’s own horizon and to structure pre-sorted processes even more clearly. Thanks to our support, the customer was able to digitalize its business processes and make them significantly more efficient.
Initial situation & order situation:
The following steps preceded the implementation:
Analysis of the relevant business areas management and corporate communications. The customer had commissioned a partner IT company to program an individualized software solution for the administration and documentation of the certification processes. Individualized because there are specific requirements for such systems in the industry. As the development of this software took many years and the costs increased steadily – without having a final end product – the customer felt compelled to look for a new contemporary alternative. In connection with the announcement that we had been go-digital certified, the client approached us for support in this regard.
In a first step, we presented the customer with various standard applications which – taking into account the necessary security standards – fulfilled all relevant requirements. Among them are: Customer management, contacts, quality management, representation and modeling of digital business processes, documentation and data management (especially because of the certifications). Software solutions from Microsoft (Dynamics 365), Odoo S.A., Sage (ERP X3), Infor (ERP Cloud Software) and others were available for selection. (odoo ERP), Sage (ERP X3), Infor (ERP Cloud Software). In this way, we ensured that our advice was neutral with regard to competition.
In addition, it was important to the customer to optimize communication within the company. Since we work with our other customers very strongly on the topics of “project planning”, “project management” and “controlling” – these are the decisive factors when it comes to timely completion – we could also help in a second step on project management and controlling (esp. time recording) and present the benefits of various applications to him: Microsoft (Teams), Google (Google Docs), MeisterLabs (MeisterTask), Monday.com (Management Tool), Zoom and Teamviewer.
After evaluating all available applications, the customer decided on the open source ERP and CRM solution odoo. Thanks to the open source solution, the application can be scaled upwards and allocated as required at any time. The consulting was carried out by Matthias Brinkmann – accompanied by ERP providers with whom we have been working for years.
Areas of focus:
The focus was on the following building blocks:
- Definition of a digital brand wall to narrow down the focal points
- Development of an implementation plan for digitalized processes
- Basic setup of a platform for digital employee networking
- Increases in agile communication – secured by regulations
- Establishment of routines that motivate the customer to perform independently
- Focus on digital applications and their consistent use: teams, chat, Google Doc, intranet
- Implementation of a structure plan for digital certification mechanisms
- Workshop on the topic: concept, development, implementation, test and application
- Training of employees and integration of a digital improvement process
Innovation push:
Definition of clear procedures for dealing with technical hurdles – esp. for help with the digitization of customers. Creating a competitive advantage through effective and bundled (digital) business processes.
